I don’t get it: How could GWB have stolen the election in 2000 and 2004 but somehow let it slip away this time?
Nancy Pelosi spoke today on the subject of Iraq:

MARGARET WARNER: Now, Donald Rumsfeld is gone, just as you this morning and many Democrats had urged. Do you take this as a sign that President Bush really does want a new direction in Iraq?
REP. NANCY PELOSI: I certainly hope so. Yesterday, the American people spoke very clearly that there's one place they want a new direction: It's in the conduct of the war in Iraq.
Sure, but too bad she nor Harry Reid can tell us exactly what that plan for a new direction is, though it seems to be what they sold the American public on. Actually, I can’t wait for the American public to get a dose of her as high profile leader of the Democrats for the next two years. For better or for worse it’s going to drive many back into the arms of the Republicans.
Another prognosis: Democrats are now in charge of both houses, something they haven’t had since before the explosion of the internet. Are they prepared for and able to cope with the instant scrutiny their thoughts and actions will bring upon them?
They are also assuming responsibility for an advertised shift in policy. I wonder what will happen to the reporting coming out of Iraq, and if there will be a corresponding change in tone and focus to reflect the new “good things” this new leadership is achieving. Be prepared to see the Democrats say, "See, all was needed was for Rumsfeld to go and a new direction taken. Our strategy is the reason Iraq is on the path to democracy."

Tony Snow should be next! Yeah, baby! Get all the sleeze-balls out of the house of corruption!
Impeach George!

"Sue who, me? Why would you sue me, what did I do?"
"Sue everybody."
In some ways, I kinda hope the Dems do something incredibly stupid like start impeachment hearings. Then we can bring everything into the open.
When the Democrats waste millions of dollars to find exactly nothing, they'll be exposed for the petty fools their leadership is. This will clear the way for a thorough housecleaning of the Democrat party from the inside, and the disposal of the far left nutcases. Just as yesterday's election will hopefully clean up the GOP. That could be very good for America.
What worries me is that they will sweep away all the things we have done right in preventing terrorism over the past five years...and we will be hit again.
It is easy for both sides of the government (reps and dems) to criticize each other. I was talking to some of my colleagues the other day about the potential for the Dems to take over and what would be the result. I began to ask myself what the best scenario would be. Example: Dem President, Republican Senate, Demacratic House. I personally beleive that a Democratic president and a very slightly Republican House and Senate would be in our best interest. Is this a stupid question? What do you guys think?
Anonymous.... yes, I'd agree with that. The way the Republicans have behaved has not been in line with the principles of the Reaganites or the 1994 reformers and the Democrats, if in the same position would likely do at least as much on spending and all the wrong moves in foreign relations.
A Democrat executive, Majority Republican elsewhere to staunch the bleeding.
This time somehow the Diebold machines worked.
It's a miracle!
Whatever the balance between the branches, I would simply like to see either Democrats or Republicans in any office take the war on terror seriously. I think a healthy debate of how to go about prosecuting that war (w/ soft vs. hard power) is a good thing, but I feel there are too many that completely underestimate the threat we face from radical Islam, and there are some that believe its September 10th and do not recognize that we are at war at all.
But as we all know, there is no such thing as a war on terror: it's all a neocon fiction created to foster fear among voters. Just ask Dirk Star, he'll tell you all about it.
It's sad that someone would assume the visage of the once great Frank Zappa as their avatar and write such elementary school drivel.
A good, short letter...

Here comes the 60's...

Good stuff. The press -- far from being liberal elite -- are cowards who go with the prevailing winds.
Thanks for stopping by and contributing Laughorist. In response to your post, I’d be curious to know what exactly you think the press cowers from?
Let me just add my 2cents on that.
They cower from objective journalism and provide instead biased narrative which more often than not nearly colludes with our enemies.
AP, for one shining example.
Laughorist, the mic is yours....
Me thinketh it was a driveby posting...
